Eat your fruits and vegetables - Increasing your servings to more than two per day can reduce your risk of hip fracture by as much as 50 percent!
 
 

 
Get your Vitamin D - There appears to be a link between very low levels of Vitamin D and hip fractures (along with numerous other ailments including cancer).
 
 
 

Walk - People who walk for at least four hours per week (with no other exercise) had a 41% lover risk of hip fracture compared with those that walked less than an hour a week.
 

 
Improve Your Balance - Approximately 40% of hip fractures are tied to self-reported deficiencies in balance.
 
 
 
 

Build your Strength - High bone mass is associated with reduced risk of hip fracture, and it just so happens that strength training increased both muscle mass and bone mass.
